Have you heard the myth of the frog in a pot of water? The water begins to heat up and eventually boils, but yet the frog doesn’t jump out! WHY?
If you introduce change gradually, it is sometimes easier to accept. Obviously, for the frog this was bad. But, here’s an example of it being good.
When my kids were young, they loved Mac N’ Cheese. So, gradually I would mix some broccoli in and eventually they were eating more broccoli then pasta and loved it!
These are lessons we can apply to our team, our business and ourselves. So many bad habits sneak up on us and we need to stop allowing them to affect our daily routines.
How do we ensure we don’t get comfortable with bad habits?
- Guard your time with everything you have
- Create a schedule and stick to it
- Set yourself up to succeed!
- Make your healthy habits as easy as possible
And if schedules make you feel stifled, try changing your mindset…schedules can truly be freeing and gifts to ourselves!
