Washing you face just once is so 2010.

double wash ever skincare clean beauty

Double washing is the new standard of skin care, so let’s chat about what it means to Double Wash and what is the best way to get the most out of Double Washing

Double cleansing is a method of cleansing your face twice. We use two different cleansers that are designed to do different things. It can help remove stubborn, pore-clogging and acne-causing impurities that can remain on the skin even after washing your face once. and it insures that your face is deeply cleaned without stripping away the hydration your skin needs to be it’s best

The benefit of double cleansing is that the first cleanser will break down any makeup, remove dirt and excess oils from the day and clean your skin.

The second cleanser will address your particular skin type or concern and should have ingredients to hydrate, smooth or exfoliate and treat acne. Doing both steps will assure that any treatment and moisturizing is not done in vain.

Your first wash can be a micellar water designed to remove makeup and environmental debris. While micellar water looks and feels just like regular water, its packed with cleansing oil molecules called micelles. Micelles attract dirt and other impurities naturally, which help cleanse your skin without stripping it of its natural oils.

It is important to choose a micellar water that follows European standards and doesn’t contain questionable ingredients. This Beauty Water uses turmeric, watermelon, and pre- and probiotics to gently clean, tone and fortify the skin biome.

Once you have gotten rid of the surface dirt, your cleanser can now to the job of addressing the specific issues of your skin. This is why it is important to pick a cleanser formulated for your skin type. Typically people have one of 3 skin types: normal to dry, normal, or oily/acne prone.

Cleansers for normal skin need to gently deep clean and provide a level of exfoliation to ensure the skin looks fresh and radiant.

For those with normal to dry skin, a cleansing balm that evens skin tone and replenishes moisture will be the best bet.

Our oily friends need a cleanser that will deep clean pores and help mattify oil production through out the day without overdrawing the skin.

I always have my clients take this Beauty Consult to determine which cleanser type will best address their issues
