Recently I got an email from one of my blog readers

"…I've tried over the years to crank my business back up. I either suck at it, or things are really different. I think they are different…..and when I try to work my business like I used to…it just doesn't work. I do feel that it is a different animal than it was in 2000."

Has the business changed?

Absolutely!

And I can't tell you how many times I have gotten this same email, from demonstrators who use to have awesome businesses.

but things changed

they didn't keep up

life happened

their business dwindled

and when they picked their head up, wow!

A lot of frustration and unsure/uncertain/discouraged about how to rebuild

I get it

I was there

When I started as a demo in 1999 I had more workshops than I could even fit on my calendar. I worked hard, but the business was easy to get.

and now?

I can't remember the last time I did a traditional workshop.

These demonstrators are experiencing what I have come to call "Spirit Weary"

and when we are in this mode of being "spirit weary", we make bad decisions.

We start to think, "well, this is as good as it is going to get"

or

"well, maybe I just can't succeed anymore"

and we quit, get another job, go part time….

we have lost our mojo

  Mojo

So how to get back in the saddle?

We need to figure out what we LOVE about our business and then build our business around it.

If you are running a business that is made up of what you think you should be doing and not want you want to be doing:

first: that is a crappy way to spend every day

second: you will never build a successful business by doing what you THINK you should do

We need to work on defining your passion and then building the systems that will allow your passions to SHINE!
